Bunny Green House
Bunnatine H Greenhouse (Bunny Geenhouse) was hired in 1997 by Lieutenant General Joe Ballard. She was assigned to oversee the Army Corps of Engineer contracts. Prior to her appointment under General Ballard, she had remained a government employee for a long time. During her term as a former Chief Cntracting Oficer (Principal Assistant Responsible for Contracting –PARC), She cited various instances of abuse and fraud by Halliburton in the run up to war in Iraq as well as in the post Iraq war period. She testified in July 2005 to a public committee of Democratic Party pointing out specific incidents related to waste, fraud and irregularities by Halliburton.
Halliburton is a multinational corporation with its operations expanding in more than 100 countries. Based in Houston Texas, it has two major business segments, the Energy services group (provides technical products and services for oil and gas exploration) and the KBR (major construction company for refineries and pipelines). Halliburton provided KBR-its subsidiary, with a secret no bid contract which was described by Greenhouse as "the most blatant and improper contract abuse I have witnessed during the course of my professional career."
Greenhouse performance reviews had been exemplary through out her public career up untill Ballard retirement in 2000. She was demoted in August 2005 and stripped of her authority by her bosses who say its because of her years long bout of poor work habits. Greenhouse and her lawyer called this a reprisal for her revelation of the truth regarding the Halliburton contracts.Her attorney also states that her EEOC complaint alleging race and gender discrimination has never been looked into.
