Brian Doyle - Homeland Security Ranking Official ArrestedBrian J. Doyle was born on April 7, 1950. He was the fourth highest ranking official in the public affairs office of the Department of Homeland security, serving as the deputy press secretary. He has also worked on the Washington’s news desk for Times Magazine from 1975 to 2001. Brian Doyle was arrested on April 4 2006 at his silver spring, Maryland home. The arrest was made on 23 charges relating to seduction of a child and transmitting pornography content to a minor over the internet by using computer. According to the allegation by the investigators of Polk County, Florida, the incident began on March 14 2006. Doyle was contacted by an undercover detective posing as a 14 year old girl in an AOL chat room. After numerous conversations, the two indulged in sexually explicit conversation. Doyle allegedly sent movie clips containing pornographic content to the 14 year girl posed by the undercover agent. According to the authorities of Polk County, Doyle DHS security picture tag was also clearly visible in one of the pictures that he sent of himself. None of his own pictures were sexually explicit. He also gave his office phone number and the number of his government issued cell phone to the undercover agent Doyle is also alleged to have many more conversation of the same nature with other minors online. Doyle was sentenced to 5 years in prison in November 2006.He reportedly confessed to Polk County. He was held in jail until released on bond. Currently he is awaiting trial before circuit Judge J.Dale Durrance. |
